About organizing PDF pages

This free browser tool handles several page tasks at once: remove blank or unwanted pages, extract only the chapters you need, and arrange pages in a new order.

All work happens in your browser, protecting privacy and avoiding upload delays. The original file is never modified.

Common uses

  • Remove blank scan pages, covers, or ads.
  • Extract a few pages into a separate file.
  • Reorder chapters or attachments.
  • Reduce size by deleting unnecessary pages.

Use Merge PDF to join documents, then Compress PDF to reduce the result. See the complete merge and split guide.

Practical notes for page organization

What the tool can and cannot do

  • It accepts one PDF up to 50 MB and produces one PDF.
  • At least one page must remain. Pages can be removed and reordered, but a page cannot be duplicated and its text or images are not edited.
  • To control memory use, thumbnails are rendered for only the first 60 pages. Later page numbers are still listed in a longer document, but without previews.

Example: clean up an expense scan

In an 18-page expense packet, pages 4 and 11 are blank and each invoice sits behind its receipt. Clear pages 4 and 11, then use the move controls to place each invoice before its receipt. The action should say 16 pages kept, and the result should contain exactly 16 pages.

Failure cases and recovery

If every page is cleared, the tool asks you to keep at least one. Password protection, damaged PDF structure, a non-PDF disguised with the extension, or insufficient browser memory during thumbnail rendering can also produce an error; the source remains unchanged. Split a very long scan into smaller chapters before organizing it.

Output acceptance checklist

  1. The download name should end in -organized.pdf, and the completion count should equal the number kept.
  2. Inspect each chapter opening, attachment page, and the final page to confirm omissions and order.
  3. Keep the source open while checking key totals, signatures, and stamps. The result is a separate file and never overwrites the original.

Frequently asked questions

QWill my PDF be uploaded to a server?

No. Deleting, extracting, and reordering pages happens entirely in your browser, so the PDF never leaves your device.

QWhat can this tool do?

It combines three tasks: delete unwanted pages, extract selected pages, and reorder pages. Deselect to delete, or select and arrange to extract and reorder.

QHow do I extract a few pages?

Deselect every page you do not need, keep the desired pages selected, and generate a new PDF.

QHow do I reorder pages?

Use the up and down controls below a thumbnail. The output follows the current order.

QCan I process an encrypted PDF?

No. Password-protected PDFs cannot be parsed. Unlock the file before adding it.

QDo I need to sign up or pay?

No. The tool is free, requires no account, and adds no watermark.
