How to combine multiple images into one PDF for free and without uploads
Have a phone full of receipt, whiteboard, book-page, or ID photos that you need to send as one document? Combining them into a PDF looks more professional than sending loose images and makes the result easier to view and print. This guide explains how to merge images into one PDF and choose page size, orientation, and order—all locally in your browser, for free and without uploads.
Basic steps
- Open the image-to-PDF tool, then drag in or select multiple images.
- Use the up and down arrows below each image to arrange them. The list order becomes the page order in the PDF.
- Choose a page size and margins, select Generate PDF, and download the result.
Page size: fit image vs A4 / Letter
This is the most important option to consider:
- Fit image: Each page matches the dimensions of its image. This works well for on-screen viewing when you do not need to print, and it adds no extra white border.
- A4 / Letter: Uses a standard paper size and centers each image proportionally on the page. Choose this for printing, consistent page sizes, and even margins.
A simple rule: choose A4 or Letter for printing, and choose Fit image for screen viewing or sharing a preview.
Orientation and margins
With A4 or Letter pages, you can set an orientation. Auto chooses landscape for wide images and portrait for tall ones, which is usually the easiest option. You can also force every page to portrait or landscape. Margins control the white space around each image: leave some room for binding or printing, or set them to zero for screen-only viewing.
Prepare images before merging
If the source images are large—phone photos can easily be several megabytes—the PDF will be large too. Before merging, use the image resizer to reduce oversized images to sensible dimensions. A longest edge of 1500–2000 px is usually enough for reading or web use. Then use the image compressor to reduce file size. The resulting PDF will be smaller and easier to share.
